Von Frankenstein guitar strings are made on a U.S. workbench using the best-available, domestically sourced, raw materials. Each string is made by hand, one at a time, with nickel-plated steel that’s carefully wrapped around a treated hex steel core. Through this meticulous process, Von Frankenstein avoids rushing and mass production, ensuring the quality, feel, and durability required by the most discerning of tone freaks.

Replaced My NYXLs!

I tune down a full step, so I thought I'd give these strings a try as they are designed for D standard tuning. First tried them a couple years ago, and I can't overstate how impressed I am - just the right tension for my tuning, they are bright without being "tinny," they stay in tune great and I've only broken one string out of the a dozen or so packs I've purchased (and that was not due to normal play, but was during a full setup on a guitar with a Floyd that I had to tune and de-tune many, many times while setting the bridge height and intonation). Before finding these strings, I never would have thought anything would replace my NYXLs, but I've been using the Gary Holt Signature Toxic Rocks on all of my guitars, and I don't see myself ever going back.

Fabulous D - Standard

I installed these strings onto an un fabulously bright and thin sounding guitar that had been tuned in E standard. The guitar has a 25” scale length, maple neck - through construction with a Floyd Rose tremolo.The guitar also has a set of DiMarzio Deactivator X pickups.

I tuned down to D standard with these strings and suddenly I was exterminating faster, devastating plaster, fabulous disaster!

The three low strings became the ultimate thick, thrashing, chug fest. They have perfect tension for the heaviest gallops, and they feel great. And those slinky, light top strings are a joy to play; effortless shred. It’s diabolical. Seriously, these strings are a hell of a lot of fun. It’s literally the best of both worlds. They are a great match for a 24.75 or 25” scale length guitar in D standard. I would ‘Not’ use them on a 25.5” scale or longer in the key of D but for a shorter scale guitar these are Great strings. I have been playing “Pestilence - Consuming Impulse” riffs all week and they just kill it.

This is a very unique set of strings and I intend on buying more.
